Within the entire serial number sequence of the Reference 6152/1, we differentiate between watches with Rolex movements and the much rarer variations with Angelus movements. How do we explain four different versions in our new book “The References” 1950’s-1960’s ? Ryan took these superb photos of his Panerai Marina Militare Reference 6152/1 next to his Panerai PAM00372. If you are not familiar with the Marina Militare dial designation, is was simply another dial designation put on some of their dials instead of Luminor Panerai, or Radiomir Panerai.

The P-series has two leather 26-26mm straps and a Pre-V 26mm buckle, the R-series comes with two 26-22mm straps, one leather and one caoutchouc strap plus a 22mm buckle. Movement: Rolex Cal. 618 / Type 4. The 6152/1 is powered by a Rolex 618 / Type 4 movement under its unsigned solid caseback (find classification of the 615X references here) and dust lid, which can be found in more than 80% of all Ref. 6152/1 watches, recorded in our database until today. The Zeitmaschine straps collections come at the moment in two variants, the Z01 GPF 2/256 inspired by the straps used on the 60mm Panerai GPF 2/56 "Big Egiziano" and the darker Z02 - 6152/1 strap that is inspired by the straps used on the Panerai Luminor reference number 6152/1.
