Hey guys, So, I have briefly decided to share my opinion of my Rolex DateJust 116234 by ARF after owning it for a few weeks. Firstly, I'd like to. You posting a pic of a gen Rolex is spot on like, the gen bezel is thinner and they should be than the ARF but that’s not the view I had query with. Instead it’s the depth measurement of your gen bezel that looks much shorter than I’d know a gen 116234 fluted bezel. It's far from a maxi (GMT, Sub) case, but it's kind of a maxi-DJ-36-case. Case 126234: Sleeker, more elegant, delicate, dressy and more reminiscent of the 5-digit DJ-case. Bracelet 116234: The hidden clasp is nice, but for optimal comfort, you have to wear the bracelet (just a little bit) loose.
hidden clasp is lower profile and doesn't stick out/scratch as much. the railroad tracks around the dial are a long time iconic signature of the datejust. the new dials look more like oyster perpetual dials now. the extra power reserve on the new models doesn't really mean much to me with my wear frequency.
I own a 116234 and have owned multiple 16234s (and some 1601s too).have to say the newer bracelets are SO NICE.
